CRAFTS: It will be your responsibility to plan, purchase supplies (with camp budget), and help instruct the girls with these crafts at camp. Generally, craft projects are set up and available for the girls to participate in during “Activity time” during the week.

EVENING ACTIVITIES: You will help the YCLs in planning and organizing all our evening activities.  Possible activities include skits & ditties, testimony meetings, a spiritual walk, or any other ideas you choose.

MUSIC: You will provide a music tent during Activity time for girls to learn/practice instruments and sing songs. We would love to have you prepare a musical number for the end of the week.  You will also be responsible for helping the YCLs lead everyone in songs before each gathering.

MEALS: At camp we have one head cook and she has 4-5 assistants. We leave it to the cooks to coordinate with each other about how to plan, purchase, and manage food for girls camp. The specifics on food budget, what meals are to be provided, food allergies, etc., will be communicated to the head cook. She will then coordinate with her kitchen staff to plan and prepare for camp.

AGE GROUP LEADER: You will help the YCLs plan classes and activities to be held each morning for the girls in one age group.  You will help plan Spiritual, Social, Intellectual, and Physical activities and classes that meet the needs of the girls in your age group.

Medical: As a Medical Counselor you will be asked to help with all medical concerns up at girls camp. You will set-up a first aid area (using camp budget), where the girls can come with their health issues and emergencies.

ACTIVITY TIME: You will have the opportunity to plan and carry out multiple fun and exciting activities for the girls to participate in during their week at camp. It will be your responsibility to gather all materials and over see any prep work involved in getting the activities ready for camp. You will then lead/oversee the activities during the week at camp. Activities take place each afternoon during “Activity Time” and are a favorite for the girls. They provide an opportunity for somewhat unstructured, fun, and flexible social time.

*FAQs
*Where does the stake leadership sleep?

Stake leadership sleeps in tents in one designated spot at camp.  We try to coordinate with each other to make sure that we have enough tents to accommodate all of us.

*What do I bring?

Anything you need to carry out your stake responsibility, as well as items on the camp packing list.

All meals will be provided for you, except for lunch on Tuesday (bring a sack lunch).

*Do I have to pay and register to go to camp?

Yes, sorry.  We want you to eat.  Cost is $45.  Please make a check out to your ward.  Go to the Registration page to find the link to register.

*What do I do when I am not doing my assigned camp job?

In the past we've had leaders ask us what they should do when they are finished with their camp responsibilities for the day.  Here are some suggestions if you are looking to get involved in camp outside of your assigned job:

*Sign up to help out during Activity time.

*You are always welcome to join the young women as they attend activities.  This gives you a chance to get to know the girls better.

*Ask the cooks if they could use an extra hand in the kitchen.

*Ask the camp craft and activities leaders if they could use a hand prepping or cleaning up.

*Find another leader you don't know and GET TO KNOW HER!  Girls camp is a bonding time for the leaders as well as     for the girls.
